Beyond Green Adds Seven New Properties to Sustainable Portfolio

Beyond Green, Preferred Travel Group’s luxury sustainable hotel portfolio, has welcomed seven new member properties at the beginning of 2024.  

The portfolio now offers properties in twenty different countries, which all adhere to over 50 sustainability indicators aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. All properties are also part of the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program. 

“I am thrilled to announce the expansion of our global portfolio with the addition of these seven new member properties,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Beyond Green. “As we continue to grow, we remain steadfast in our mission to promote travel as a force for good, guided by our pillars of sustainability – Nature, Community, and Culture. Together, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future for all.” 

ARTIEM Asturias 

Located in Asturias, Spain, is ARTIEM Asturias, a luxurious wellness retreat that combines personal wellness with the wellness of the planet. The retreat’s main restaurant offers local and seasonal foods, guest rooms feature an “airplane mode” to save energy and the entire retreat has a supply and carbon footprint control system to ensure sustainability. 

Dromoland Castle Hotel

While Dromoland Castle is from the 16th century, its approach to sustainability is firmly rooted in the 21st. The Irish castle, located in County Clare, offers a historic, luxury stay with gardens, a golf course and more. Programs like on-site composting and connecting with local suppliers ensure less waste and fresh, seasonal food. 

The Leela Palace Bengaluru

Located in Bengaluru, The Leela Palace Bengaluru offers an incredible luxury experience that is a destination all its own. It offers an EV charging station, solar plants and a commitment to renewable energy. Its local programs are designed to promote and protect the region’s cultural heritage, offering workshops for guests, art and music performances and more.

Located only minutes from Victoria Falls, Zambezi Sands is the first black female-owned safari lodge in Africa, offering ten tents with views of the Zambezi River. The luxury camp offers Safari-style experiences and accommodations, and it works with the community to prevent poaching and fires. The Tesse Fund, its flagship initiative, is funded by 10 percent of guest revenue, which funds employee community projects.  

The Leela Palace Udaipur

Located on Lake Pichola in Udaipur, The Leela Palace Udaipur is another luxury stay with an eye towards destination stewardship. It offers eco-friendly boats to reduce pollution, regularly conducts lake clean-ups, and has planted thousands of trees. Food is sourced locally. The hotel also supports Asha Dham Ashram, a rescue and rehab center for the unhoused. 

Hotel Las Islas

Located on Baru Island in Colombia, Hotel Las Islas offers a stunning Caribbean escape with 65 private bungalows. It had worked with the local community and national parks organization to restore mangrove forests, planting over 2,000 trees. It has also planted over 70,000 new corals in the surrounding waters. 

Mas Salagros EcoResort

Located within a nature reserve near Barcelona, Spain, this wellness hotel combines natural sustainability with wellness offerings. Mas Salagros features an AIRE Ancient Baths wellness center and all local food at its three restaurants. Sustainability initiatives include a Green Globe certification, a biomass boiler, plant-based roofs, sustainable construction and more.
